While the apartment itself is excellent, guests must pretend to be friends of the host rather than tourists due to building restrictions on short-term rentals. Multiple reviews mention threatening signs from neighbors and the uncomfortable feeling of doing something illegal.
🚩 Red Flags
“At last minute before checking-in, the hosts send you a message that you need to say to everyone that you are a friend of the host, not a tourist, that you cannot speak to anyone from the staff of the residence because what they are doing is illegal (renting short term), because they received many complaints from the neighbours etc.”
“There is a huge sign in the lobby made by the neighbours threatening tourists that they will go to jail and be fined for staying at this place and that the neighbours should report any suspicious activity to the legal administrator.”
“it is true that there are many signs in the building saying short stays are illegal, encouraging residents to report if they notice airbnb guests. We didn't encounter any problems, thankfully.”
“Walking to the BTS can be a bit challenging since there isn't really a proper sidewalk and traffic is quite active.”
“There's no sidewalk on the road to the station, but it's just a 4 minute walk, so it's not too bad.”
“One must be vigilent to walk to bts and back because it's busy traffic street outside the condo.”
“The mattress is extremely firm. I like firm mattresses, but this one felt too hard even for me.”
“We decided to cut our stay short because unfortunately there was a problem with the card reader door lock. Impossible to lock the accommodation securely and when we arrived with the host the problem had already occurred.”
“when going out, the room door did not lock immediately...we had to repeat opening and closing about 3-4 times before the door locked. Also when entering, there was only sound but it wouldn't open”
“the door to the room is very hard to close.host is really nice and responsive which is helpful.”
“The apartment is small but okay for a couple for a few nights.”
“Also the room size is also significantly smaller than the photos. It's too small for 3 people to use, and it's a suitable size for about 2 people.”
“The apartment itself is a bit on the smaller side, but it's great for a couple.”
“First time using homestay for travel, better than I imagined, the place is clean and quiet. The only bad thing is there are ant tracks!”
