This hotel has serious health and safety issues including confirmed mold problems, persistent insect infestations, and dirty bedding reported across multiple years. The chronic noise issues from paper-thin walls and nightly disturbances make sleep nearly impossible. While the Copacabana location is excellent, the misleading photos and room sizes combined with critical cleanliness failures make this an unsafe choice despite some positive staff interactions.

Room smelled of mold with shower that doesn't drain

The rooms were very dated, dank, smelled of mould (the shower in 303 doesn't drain so you're constantly standing in old water)

Old hotel, musty smell, urgently needs renovation. Very expensive price.

In the shower water stood. Curtains are yellowed. It smelled extremely of chemicals.

Paper thin walls, hear everything from neighbors

The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything, and the rooms aren't cleaned properly

Every night at 1am you would hear the garbage truck outside for at least 5-10mins. Additionally, at 6am there was a loud gush of wind coming from the bathroom lasting about 6mins

No sound isolation. Every day we woke up with people talking in the corridor before 7am and also the whistle of people holding the elevator door

Very poorly soundproofed rooms (you hear people in the hallway) small, old. Ultra noisy fridge.

The sound isolation was awful and the elevators were scarce for the amount of people staying at the hotel

Room half the advertised size

We didn't expect to be placed in a room half the size advertised. We barely had enough space to put 2 suitcases down. Advertised as 20 sqm, however our room was about 9 sqm

2 years ago·Australia·Score: 2/10

The room is tiny compared to the Booking ad, old hotel needing maintenance

2 years ago·Brazil·Score: 4/10

I booked a standard double. The description said the room was 20 sq m with full bed. On checking in our room was 9 sqm with a tiny bed

I reserved a room with sea view, I have the photos they put on the page when I booked, but when I got there it was completely the opposite! The view was lateral and partial
